Remnant Community Outreach is a Black- and queer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving Black and Brown women, girls, and people of LGBT+ experience. Our work includes advancing LGBTQ+ inclusion, reproductive and mental health advocacy, voter engagement, and human rights. Rooted in Memphis and serving communities throughout the Bible Belt, Remnant confronts the systems, policies, and theologies that harm marginalized people while creating pathways for healing, justice, civic participation, and collective liberation.
We believe every person deserves to live whole, well, and free. That means fighting for accessible mental health care, protecting reproductive autonomy, challenging racism and gender-based discrimination, strengthening democratic participation, and ensuring LGBTQ+ people can live, worship, vote, and thrive without fear.
To advance LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive and mental health access, voter engagement, and human dignity across race, gender, faith, and identity through advocacy, healing-centered programming, and community-rooted leadership development. We challenge harmful policies, dismantle inequitable structures, and empower communities to organize, vote, advocate, and reclaim their power.
A South transformed where every person has the freedom, safety, and resources to live fully, lead boldly, participate in democracy, equity, and flourish without fear. We envision vibrant communities where justice is accessible, mental health care is affirming, reproductive choice is protected, LGBTQ+ people are celebrated, voter power is strengthened, and faith communities choose liberation over dogma.
A future where those long pushed to the margins do more than survive—they vote, organize, lead, and shape the world we all deserve.
Our work spans three core pillars:
A leadership and justice initiative equipping community members, organizers, and faith leaders to understand systems, influence policy, and mobilize for equity - including voter education, turnout, and civic leadership.
A civic education, legislative advocacy, and voter engagement arm that helps communities track bills, understand their rights, navigate elections, and organize for meaningful, people-centered change - especially in states with active voter suppression.
A liberated faith space holding honest conversations about spirituality, queerness, healing, and the journey toward a faith that affirms humanity rather than suppresses it. Faith Unfiltered also helps communities connect spiritual identity with civic responsibility.
